This is what I do in debate.

We're nerds, asians, debaters, and we've been at speech camp all week pretending to act mature under the cleverly disguised title of "super-varsity." What can we say?

Check it out on Shorty & Shrimpy's blog. :D

This is Happiness.

Or nerdiness, however you like it.

AUGUST 16th.

Jane Eyre comes out on DVD!!!

I'm soooo ridiculously stoked, except that they absolutely 100% FAILED the DVD cover. I mean, I've seen bad dvd covers, but this probably tops them all for the worst. Just look at it. It doesn't take much.

I'm pretty sure they're missing the credits at the top, and that'll help. But still. It fails.

Disappointment. Also, the plain dvd has like, just the movie on it. No bonus features. Any nerd knows that half the joy of the dvd is the bonus features. Blu-ray has all the stuff.

WHY, blu-ray, why??

Oh well. I'm still excited.

You've got to be kidding me.

No wait, that's right, I live in Seattle.

Check out this article on summer in Seattle this year.

Yeah. We've only had 78 minutes (mind you, that is 1 hour and 18 minutes) of weather over 80 degrees. All summer.

Okay that's just depressing. How about weather over 75 degrees?

18 hours and 48 minutes.

Dude, that's not even a full day, you realize?!

ALL SUMMER.

I'm sure all you crazy cloud-loving people are just tickled, but I mean, really. 80 degrees isn't all that hot compared to what the rest of the country is getting right now. I'm sitting here feeling like I should have homework to do, that's how dreary it is.

The grass is still green!

Oh Seattle, you grieve my soul.

Oh life....

So. Pictures....of life! From the last...3-4 months or so! Minus the pics from Nationals, which ideally shall come later.

Portland, Oregon for the Region II tournament. My favorite thing about this picture is Raymond in the background... =]

Adventuring out to see Jane Eyre with Gray and Ophelia...

My awesome Silversmith speech club. LOVE.

Co-op semi formal...sooo much fun! Except that swing dancing on a boat is *not* that smart...

John-Luke's 10th birthday - I made him a lego cake. =]

Co-op graduation. (not my high school graduation, just co-op graduation)

So...I have pretty much grown up with these girls all my life. <3

One-day production of Fiddler on the Roof. Good times, that.
Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match....

Summer weather with my crazy dog....

...and my crazy friends....

...and crazy siblings...

But somehow, it's the middle of July and I'm still wearing jeans...something is wrong with this picture....oh, Seattle....

I rediscovered this song today.

So, so beautiful.

"You hold me as my Father, and mold me as my Maker."

"My child, I love you. And as long as you're seeking My face, you'll walk in the pow'r of My daily sufficient grace."

Daily.

Sufficient.

Ever thought about the power of the word "sufficient?" It's not only enough, it's exactly what you need. It's not just an energy bar to get you through, it's a fully balanced meal that fills you up - perfectly, fully satisfying, and absolutely beautiful.

And He said to me - 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I would rather boast in my weakness, that the power of Christ may dwell in me! (2 Cor. 12:9)

Write it down, before you forget.

Lately I've been struggling a lot with continuing to seek Christ and follow Him, especially with a lack of inspiration/fellowship/church family.

In our family Bible reading a bit ago, we read 2 Chronicles 15 -

The LORD is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. (2 Chronicles 15:2b)

It's hard to seek Christ when you feel like there's nothing going for you, or like you're doing it all on your own.

But Psalms also says
If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

So many things I hear around me are things like walk by faith, not by sight - and faith is not a feeling.

It's hard to press on when no one feeds you even the encouragement you need to keep going....yet at the same time there is magnificent power in knowing that you worship the Holy, Majestic, Awesome, Wonderful GOD of the universe, and that even though you completely have no idea, I can rest - knowing that He does. And if I seek, I will find.

Ouch.

Do you ever go back and read your own blog?

It's not vain to re-post your posts is it?

Because this post - yes, in my own writing - was really convicting to me. Again.

Funny the way God decides to work...
